Grip Assistant

The Grip Assistant is a vital member of the grip department, working alongside the Key Grip and Best Boy Grip under their guidance. Their primary responsibility is to provide assistance and support on the film set, aiding in various tasks related to camera support, set construction, and equipment operation. Grip Assistants play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the grip department and collaborate closely with the camera and electrical departments as needed, all under the direction of the Key Grip or Best Boy Grip.

Professional competences:

• Basic electrical, mechanical, and carpentry skills – operate, lift, and adjust equipment.
• Basic knowledge of the film-making process and awareness of the industry specifics – basic knowledge of film making’s pre-production, production, and post-production stages.
• Knowledge of film departments’ work specifics – understanding of work of the grip and camera department.
• Safety of Set – ensures safe operation of equipment of the grip department.
